You're listening to Mr. English Podcast by Mr. English Podcast. Hello and welcome to the Mr. English Podcast. I'm Jessica. And I'm John. Thanks for joining us again. In today's episode, we'll learn how to talk about the future in English. We'll practice making plans, predictions, and even sharing our dreams. This is important because English has several ways to talk about the future using will, going to, and sometimes even the present continuous. We'll show you how they work in real conversation. So, John, what are you going to do this weekend? On Saturday, I'm going to visit my parents. We'll have dinner together. On Sunday, I'll probably stay home and relax. That sounds nice. I'm going to meet a friend for coffee. And on Sunday, I'll bake a cake. Ooh, cake. Save me a slice. Okay, so here's what we just used. Going to for plans you already decided. I'm going to visit my parents. Will for things you decide at the moment or for predictions. I'll stay home. I think it will rain tomorrow. Present continuous also works for future arrangements. I'm meeting a friend for coffee. So you can mix them depending on the situation. John, what do you think the world will be like in 20 years? H I think cars will be electric and maybe we'll travel to space more often. Yeah, I agree. And I think people are going to work from home even more. What about your personal future? Well, I hope I'll travel to Italy next year. It's been my dream for a long time. That's awesome. I'm going to learn a new language next year. Maybe Spanish. Hola, John. Here are some useful phrases for the future. I'm going to a plan. I'll probably a future possibility. I think it will. A prediction. I'm meeting a fixed arrangement. Someday I want to a dream or hope. And don't forget time words. tomorrow, next week, in 5 years, someday, soon, later. Let's practice together. Repeat after us. I'm going to visit my family this weekend. I'll probably stay home and watch a movie. I think it will rain tomorrow. I'm meeting my friend for lunch next week. Someday I want to travel the world. Hey, John, are you free this Saturday? Let me check. In the morning, I'm going to the gym, but in the afternoon, I'll be free. Great. Let's meet at the park. Sounds good. I'll bring some snacks. Talking about the future is so useful. Whether you're making plans, dreams, or predictions. Exactly. Remember, going to for plans, will for predictions, and sometimes present continuous for arrangements. Now it's your turn. Write in the comments, what are you going to do next weekend? We'd love to read your answers. Thanks for joining us today and we'll see you next time on the Mr. English podcast.
